Winter Skin Survival Kit

Freezing temperatures, cold winds, dry hot air indoors and many other factors make winter a really difficult time for your skin. To keep skin supple, healthy and beautiful throughout this season and prevent any damage, you need this special winter survival kit on hand.

  1. Gentle cleanser.
Soaps and scrubs are necessary to keep your skin clean, but they remove too much oil during the winter when your skin gets too dry because of the harsh weather conditions.
This means that you shouldn’t overuse soap and use the gentlest kind of cleanser that fits your skin type.
  2. Moisturizer.
Your skin will require more hydration during the winter months, so you should consider purchasing a product that is a bit “heavier” than the one you usually buy. Keep a travel sized container of your moisturizer in your purse, like the PureLx Perfection Anti-Aging Cream or the PureLx Allure Oil Free Moisturizer. Neither will clog your pores but will provide more than adequate hydration and protection from the harsh weather.
Be sure to apply the moisturizer every time after you cleanse your face.
  3. Vitamins.
Eating fruit and vitamin supplements is good, but your skin will require even more nutrition to stay healthy and beautiful. Try Premium C Serum by PureLx. In addition to 20% Organic Vitamin C, it contains Vitamins B3, B5 and E, plus Ferulic and Hyaluronic acids. This means that it will provide your skin with the necessary nutrients and form a protective layer over your face. This will keep the moisture in and keep environmental damage at bay.
  4. Sunscreen.
UVA and UVB rays are dangerous regardless of the season. However, during winter, you can apply some “heavier” sunscreens, as they will provide additional protection against the weather. Be sure to find a product that meets your personal needs best as many of them can be too heavy and clog your pores, especially if you apply makeup atop the sunscreen.
  5. Baby oil for your body.
This product is neutral, so it shouldn’t cause an allergic reaction even if you have extremely sensitive skin. You should apply it immediately after bathing. The oil will create a protective layer over the skin of your body, which will prevent it from cracking and irritation caused by cold and rough fabrics.
Baby oil is more efficient than oil during this season as it has stronger moisturizing and protection effects.
  6. Antiperspirant.
One of the nastiest things about winter is that you often sweat too much because you move between the rooms that are too hot and streets that are way too cold. These sudden changes of temperature make you sweat more profusely, and this can result in your skin becoming too dry. Note that being sweaty also increases the risk of catching a cold.
You need to purchase a potent antiperspirant, but be sure to invest in non-toxic ones.
  7. Restorative night cream.
Your skin will require some extra care during the night. You need to find a cream that fits your skin type and restores the skin. This way, you will be able to heal any minor damage that might have occurred during the day. If the cream suits your skin type, your skin will look bright, smooth and healthy in the morning. Our Perfection Anti-Aging cream is formulated with 6 unique peptides along with Squalane and Hyaluronic acids to be ideal both morning and night!
